The Mysteries of the Holy Rosary

"The family that prays together, stays together."
The mysteries of the rosary focuses on the life of Christ according to the Scriptures. Each mystery is divided into five decades, with each decade representing an event or truth in the life of Christ.


The Joyful Mysteries
The Joyful Mysteries are prayed every Monday and Saturday. The Joyful Mysteries are as follows:
1) The Annunciation of the Archangel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin
2) The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin to her cousin St. Elizabeth
3) The Birth of Jesus at Bethlehem
4) The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple
5) The Finding of the Child Jesus in the Temple

The Sorrowful Mysteries
The Sorrowful Mysteries are prayed every Tuesday and Friday. The Sorrowful Mysteries are as follows:
1) The Agony in the Garden of Gethsemane
2) The Scourging of Jesus at the Pillar
3) The Crowning of Jesus with Thorns
4) The Carrying of the Cross by Jesus to Mount Calvary
5) The Crucifixion of Jesus on Mount Calvary

The Glorious Mysteries
The Glorious Mysteries are prayed every Wednesday and Sunday. The Glorious Mysteries are as follows:

1) The Resurrection of Jesus
2) The Ascension of Jesus
3) The Descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles
4) The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven
5) The Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Heaven/The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Mysteries of Light or Luminous Mysteries
The Luminous Mysteries or Mysteries of Light are prayed every Thursday. The Luminous Mysteries or Mysteries of Light are as follows:

1) Jesus' Baptism in the Jordan River
2) Jesus' Self-manifestation at the Wedding at Cana
3) Jesus' Proclamation of the Kingdom of God with His call to conversion
4) Jesus' Transfiguration
5) Jesus' Institution of the Eucharist, as the sacramental expression of the paschal mystery
